My personal feelings concerning Mr Patton aside, this is not too bad of a presentation concerning the dead sea scrolls,,,I don't agree 100% on some of his conclusion concerning the scrolls (ie his reference to the exodus, I do not believe there was such an event) but he is interpreting the scholarly aspect from within his christian beliefs,,,

One concern that occurs early in the video is his belief that the dead sea scrolls "PROVE" the bible,,,he is taking the textual accuracy, when comparing the dds to extant manuscripts of biblical as proof that the Bible is the word of god,,,imho all the dds do is show that the copyist maintained a modicum of professionalism when hand copying the earlier manuscripts,,,the dds do not prove that the bible is the word of god,,,they really don't prove anything,,,what they do show is that there where many other, then unknown texts, floating around the ancient world,,,

Dr. Patton is the staff Geologist for the Qumran Plateu excavation in Israel, the site that produced the Dead Sea Scrolls some 2,000 years ago. These scrolls, perhaps the most significant archeological discovery of all time, have changed the way we view the Bible.

Many have been led to believe that the original text of the Bible has deteriorated over years of copying and recopying. The Dead Sea Schrolls provide a test of that hypothesis, allowing us to compare modern versions with recently discovered manuscripts written over 2,000 years ago.

Dr. Patton will take you to the same scene of the original caves where the scrolls were discovered with one of the Bedouins who made the discovery. This is a fascinating story with eternal implications.
